چکیده
Manganese dioxide is typically reduced to a bivalent state before being extracted; here, sulfur considered an efficient reductant and sulfur–based reduction has been industrialized in China. In this study, the reaction mechanism between MnO2 gaseous was investigated. Thermodynamically, of by feasible. The predominant phase diagram as functions temperature input S2(g) fraction S2–MnO2 system calculated. Experimental validation showed that stepwise low-valence manganese oxides sulfate. composition roasted products complex, MnS inevitably formed. valence well microstructure during roasting were also investigated X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) scanning electron microscopy–energy-dispersive (SEM–EDS). process could be described unreacted nuclear model. extracted sulfuric acid solution after waste. acid, 95.2 wt% Mn extraction achieved, using 450 °C, time 30 min, S2/MnO2 molar ratio 0.40. With same conditions, low Fe achieved. On other hand, deionized water, 24.3 confirming formation MnSO4.

Vanadium extraction from a magnetite ore using alkaline roasting and acid leaching processes: optimization of parameters by response surface methodology
In this work, thealkaline roasting and sulfuric acid leaching processes were employed to extract vanadium from the magnetite ore of Saghand mine in central Iran. The response surface methodology based on the central composite design model was applied to optimize the parameters involved in the processes. The studied roasting parameters were temperature (900-1100 °C), sodium carbonate percentage ...
متن کاملExtraction of Iron and Manganese from Pyrolusite Absorption Residue by Ammonium Sulphate Roasting–Leaching Process
The residue from desulfurization and denitrification of exhaust gas treatment process with pyrolusite ore as absorbent is regarded as a potential source of iron and manganese. In this study, an extraction process is proposed for recovery of iron and manganese with ammonium sulphate roasting followed by sulphuric acid leaching. Firstly, the conversion mechanism was analyzed through mineral phase...
متن کاملFungal Leaching of Manganese Ore
Bioleaching is technologically feasible for extraction of manganese from low grade ores (containing manganese less than 35% by weight). The principle involves the non-enzymatic reduction of pyrolusite [Mn(IV) oxides] to +2 oxidation state by fungi with the production of metabolites such as oxalic acid and citric acid. In the present investigation, a fungal strain, Penicillium citrinum was isola...
متن کاملBioelectrochemical Mn(II) leaching from manganese ore by Lactococcus lactis SK071115.
L. lactis sk071115 has been shown to grow more actively and generate lower levels of lactate in glucose-defined medium with nitrate than in medium with Mn(IV). By adding Mn(IV) to a L. lactis culture, lactate production was relatively reduced in combination with Mn(II) production, but cell mass production levels did not increase. Both cell-free extract and intact L. lactis cells reacted electro...
متن کاملRecovering Y and Eu from Waste Phosphors Using Chlorination Roasting—Water Leaching Process
Recovering Y and Eu from waste phosphors using chlorination roasting followed by a water leaching process was investigated in this study. Firstly, by chlorination roasting and water leaching, Y and Eu elements present in waste phosphors were efficiently extracted into a leach solution. Secondly, the majority of the impurities in the solution can be removed by adjusting the pH to 4.5 using a Na2...
